About the Event

What: RAFMA will be hosting its November 2024 monthly meet in the Lake District. Additionally, RAFMA members will have the opportunity to take part in the informal social and buffet evening on Friday, and the Annual Dinner on Saturday, at the Macdonald Hotel Old England Hotel and Spa.

When:  Fri 29 Nov to Sun 1 Dec.

Where: The Meet will be run from the hut accommodation, for those undertaking 'on duty' activity.

  • Accommodation. Full details about the accommodation will be disseminated in the Admin Order. The options are:
  1. Hut: National Air Cadet Adv Trg Centre (NACATC), 36 Park Rd, Windermere, LA23 2BJ, UK
  2. Hotel: Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa, 23 Church Street, Windermere, LA23 3DF, UK
  • Note: If you are staying in the hotel, you need to book through the hotel.
  • Note: If you are only staying in the NACATC Hut, then book an "accommodation only" ticket.

Who:

  • Meet Manager: John MacNaught, who can be contacted at mountaineering.meets @rafsport.org.uk.
  • Meet OiC: Responsible for the 'Good Conduct' of the meet and will be detailed in the Admin Order, nearer the time.
  • Senior Meet Supervisor: Responsible for the 'Safe Conduct' of the meet and will be detailed in the Admin Order, nearer the time.
  • New Members? For your first RAFMA meet, please contact the Meet Manager for your discount code for your tickets.

Additional info: 

  • Equipment: Personnel are required to bring all their own mountaineering equipment. Serving personnel may be able to organise loan of equipment through your local AT unit. If you require to borrow equipment or have any issues, please reach out via WhatsApp, RAFMA Facebook or meet OIC.
  • Questions: Any enquiries can be made through the 'Contact' button on the website/app or directly to the Meet Organiser. 
  • Cancellations: Last-minute cancellations typically prevent other members from attending so early cancellations are very important. 
  • Refunds: Refunds will ONLY be issued, where at least 72 hours' notice is given.
